Summer is where senior year begins.

Summer always feels like the true beginning of senior season here in Bainbridge and the surrounding Tallahassee area. Everything slows down just enough to really soak in this season of life, and it becomes the perfect time to start planning senior portraits for the Class of 2027.
This recent senior session reminded me why I love starting early. There is something really special about photographing seniors in the summer and then continuing their story into fall and spring. It gives space for change, growth, and personality to unfold naturally over time instead of trying to fit everything into one single moment.
As a senior photographer in Bainbridge, GA, I’ve found that most families choose a one time senior session to celebrate this milestone, while others choose my membership option to document multiple stages throughout the year.
Both tell a story. They just tell it differently.
A Senior Story That Grows Over Time
This particular senior holds a really special place in my heart. She has been in front of my camera since I first opened my business, and watching her grow into this season has been such a full circle moment for me.

It also brought me back to my own daughter approaching her senior year. I remember how quickly that season arrived. One minute you are thinking about school photos and sports, and the next you are looking at graduation announcements and wondering how time moved so fast.
I took so many photos during her senior year. I also hired other photographers because I didn’t want to miss a single piece of it. That experience completely changed how I approach senior photography now. I understand just how important this season is for both parents and seniors, not just as a session, but as a memory you will return to for years.
That is why I love offering both full senior sessions and The Senior Storyline Membership approach. It gives families the freedom to choose how they want to remember this time without pressure.
Why Summer is the Perfect Starting Point
Starting senior portraits in the summer gives us so much flexibility. In Bainbridge and Tallahassee, summer light is beautiful, locations are open and relaxed, and seniors are usually less stressed before the busy school year begins.
It also opens the door for something I truly love recommending. Instead of stopping at one session, many families choose to continue into fall and spring. Each season adds something different:
- Summer feels light, free, and full of personality
- Fall brings warmth, texture, and depth
- Spring feels fresh, celebratory, and close to graduation
When combined, it becomes a full senior story in addition to a single meaningful portrait session.

Whether you are looking for a senior photographer in Bainbridge GA, Tallahassee senior portraits, or someone serving the surrounding areas, my goal is always the same. I want seniors to feel comfortable, confident, and fully themselves in front of the camera.
